The Next Generation of CFMA Members

As summer comes to an end, fall is a season full of changes. For families, the kids are finally back to school. For sports fans, it’s the start of football season. And for others, it’s simply the cooler weather and the opportunity to see the leaves change that causes excitement.

Whatever it might be for you, take the time to step back and truly appreciate the season of change; it’s those experiences and relationships that we remember the most!

Embracing Change

Embracing change is one of those skills that we should all strive to have in our toolbox, as it allows us to improve ourselves and others through development and understanding. In the long term, change will allow us to strengthen our processes and relationships, be more inclusive, and understand that while we’re not all built the same, we can still find our way to the top of the mountain by working together. There are few things better than watching the dynamics of a team that comes together by being inclusive, adapting to change, and working toward a common goal, whether it’s in business, family, or our relationships.

CFMA’s Commitment

CFMA is committed to developing its members and stakeholders through education, certification, and support so they can be essential to their companies’ successes. CFMA is also committed to building an inclusive community that fosters an open, welcoming, and inclusive Association of members who share CFMA’s common values.

So how do we work together to strengthen CFMA and build a more inclusive community? I’m glad you asked, because we need your help on this important piece of our strategic plan.

The Next Generation

What does the next generation of CFMA members look like? Is it younger, more tech-savvy members who want education and innovation at their fingertips 24/7? Is it more people who are earlier on in their construction financial professional careers who want to network and give back to their communities? Is it members who are focused on promoting an inclusive community where anyone in our industry can join and feel welcome? Is it members who can continue to help advance our industry through technology and relationships? Or is it those who are looking for a path to leadership opportunities? While there isn’t one right answer, we need to do whatever we can to help support them.

How can we help attract a younger, more diverse membership of leaders to strengthen the future of CFMA and advance our industry? Again, there isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer, but it starts with each of us fostering an inclusive community of leaders built on the strength of member development through innovation and technology, allowing us to advance our industry forward built on the hard work of younger leaders!

There is lots of work to do, but I look forward to Coming Together to work as a community and developing the next generation of CFMA for a stronger, more inclusive industry!
